2023 Election

General Election • Tuesday,  November 7, 2023

Boulder County has posted election results in detail here

Where We Stand:  Our positions on the 2023 ballot issues

The
LWV has two missions—Advocacy (our positions on the ballot issues) and Education (our nonpartisan information about the issues and their proponents and opponents).

LWV can support or oppose ballot issues only if our members have established a Program Position directly relevant to the question before the voters. To arrive at such positions, members prioritize a public policy area, study it in depth, and identify the points around which members are in broad agreement. Positions are reconsidered annually and affirmed, revised or dropped.

City of Boulder 2023 election changes

City of Boulder voters will be electing a mayor using Instant Runoff Voting (IRV), a single-winner form of Ranked Choice Voting (RCV).
   •  The voting and the counting of votes are explained in the  Ranked Choice Voting Guide on the city's website and on the county's web page.
   •  Our Voting Methods Team's webpage explains single-winner ranking, scoring, and approval voting methods.
   •  See the slides here from the September 19th presentation by the City Clerk, County Clerk, and LWVBC about ranking candidates and much more.  Watch the video from the presentation here.

   • Boulder County Elections also hosted webinars on  RCV and election processes.
