About this event

LWVBC Safety & Security Training
Knowing what to do if Disruptive Behavior and Conflict Erupt at an Event

Tuesday, June 11, 2024
6-9pm
Louisville Fire Department, Station 1
1240 Main Street, Louisville
Please park on the street or at Louisville Middle School (across the street)

Anyone who can benefit from this type of training is welcome - there is no charge.

As organizers and participants of community events, we have a responsibility to do our best to ensure that everyone feels welcome & safe.  From how we facilitate a quick exit in the event of a fire, to how can we calm a heated exchange or when should we call for help, this training will teach you how to understand your own responses to situations, identify potential body language indicators, provide some basic tools to de-escalate situations and suggestions on how to prevent them in the first place.

Please join us for a course taught by James Hiromasa and Shannon Lukeman-Hiromasa. James and Shannon are the Co-CEO’s and Co-Founders of Colorado Krav Maga, Inc. James is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Arrest Control/Defensive Tactics SME Committee within the Colorado Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) which is responsible for oversight of the Law Enforcement Certifications, Training and Academies in the State of Colorado.  Shannon is Mayor Pro Tem of Northglenn, CO.  Together they have conducted awareness, self-defense &/or de-escalation training for groups such as the Colorado Treasurers and Public Trustees, Denver Regional Council of Governments, and various State of Colorado agencies.
